Have you ever seen a WW2 movie focused on a combat medic who saved countless lives? Most likely not, due to people wanting an action packed movie with only combat scenes, but I find this movies to be lacking in a real story, but the movie, Hacksaw Ridge, is focused on a combat medic named Desmond Doss who noticed from a young age violence is not the answer and he swore to help others. Desmond had enlisted into the military as a combat medic after the bombing of pearl harbor. He then saved an incomprehensible amount of lives without ever using a gun.
Personally I found this movie to be a masterpiece. The music alone made this movie fantastic. The music was well orchestrated and used in the perfect scenarios and the right time. The music had created a close to home feel, making every scene feel even more real. The music was provided by Rupert Gregson-Williams.
Each scene felt as if it had a purpose, unlike most movies you will watch will have scenes that act as filler scenes to lengthen the screen time of their film. This movie is like a puzzle, with each scene being a piece that is slowly put together.
If you are looking for a good movie to watch, I would recommend Hacksaw Ridge to those even not interested in war movies. The movie doesn't focus on murder and the effects of the war, it's about a man who wants to effect the war and the people fighting it in a positive way by helping his fellow armed men.
