Most bad habits are caused by two things: stress and boredom. A lot of the time your bad habits revolve around stress or boredom. For instance, if you bite your nails it can simply be because you are bored, or maybe because you are stressed about school, work, or just daily life things.
If you need to get rid of bad habits, replace all of them with more healthy ways. Find ways that also reduce stress and boredom just as easily as being healthy.
Rarely can you ever just get rid of a bad habit, you have to replace it with a good habit. Something that helps you relieve stress, and is still healthy. The only way this works is if you are true to yourself. If you say you’re gonna stop biting your nails at a certain time, you have to actually follow through. You can’t decide in the middle of getting over your habit that it’s too hard, and it’s just easier to just bite your nails. Well maybe that’s true, but if you haven’t noticed life isn’t easy. You’re gonna be stressed, and bored a lot. All you have to do is replace a bad habit with a healthy one.
If you’re like me you don’t bite your nails. Instead when I’m stressed I don’t eat as much, or as often as I should, and believe me I like food, so it’s weird for me to not eat. Just ask my friends. Actually instead I chew gum, which probably isn’t good, but that’s why they call them bad habits. Anyway I will start to reduce stress in a more healthy way that helps me. How about you?
