The Fate of the furious is the eighth installment in the Fast and Furious franchise. In this we follow Vin Diesel and the rest of the gang, as Vin Diesel’s character, Dom, is getting blackmailed by Cipher, (played by Charlize Theron) to save his son that she has in custody.
Furious 8 is nowhere near the best in the series. While they do try and focus on the family aspect of the franchise, they do fail to include little to none of the racing/cars aspects. In the few instances that there are cars and or racing, it is incredibly unrealistic. For instance, no car can have the whole front end on fire, drive backwards, and still go over 100 mph.
Besides the unrealistic scenes throughout the storyline, the story itself has some slow, boring, and stupid sections, but what movie doesn’t. The actors and their characters really help in getting past those sections though with their witty banter, and adorably funny scenes such as between Dom’s son and some of the gang members.
All in all, I enjoyed watching Fast Furious if not for the story itself, then just to continue the characters that I’ve watched develop for years now. It still would’ve been nice if they took a little bit more time to work on the story a little more, but it’s okay. It was enjoyable enough to be constantly attentive throughout the movie. So whether you are like me and want to check up on your favorite character, or want to watch buildings explode, or even a mixture of both I recommend you check it out
