To get a better grasp of the Thompson family vacation, I decided to interview Donna to get the inside scoop on the ins and outs of the best of the best California theme parks.
The three theme parks that were visited were : Disneyland, California Adventure, and last but certainly not least Universal Studios. Let me tell you, from the little snit bits of information I got, there was never a dull moment during this trip
Firstly let’s just talk about the journey to GET to the vacation. A taxi driver was reserved just for them to pick them up from the airport and take them to their hotel. Let’s just say it didn’t go well.. Once they got in the car, the taxi driver goes on telling Donna’s son in law how he is diabetic, has a terrible heart and has to take 25 aspirin a day just to cope with the pain, but stuffs his mouth full of candy while waiting for his clients … OH and he should have had heart surgery 3 years ago but decided against it. Doesn’t he just sound like a guy you want to trust your life with? You would ? Well, don’t worry it gets better! While this guy is showing off pictures and telling them all about his health issues, HE ALMOST REAR ENDED A CAR. Yep you heard that right .. almost rear ended a car in the middle of Long Beach. Pretty exciting way to start a vacation huh!
Also while roaming the streets they were almost on tv with Mario Lopez. They were by John Stamos when he was proposing to his now fiancée Caitlin McHugh. Those two things don’t happen often. The only thing I saw at Disney was a look a like of one of the Disney channel actors from Pair of Kings.
Now to the q&a part of the Interview:
Favorite rides in all three parks and why?
DISNEYLAND:”Splash mountain due to the fact that it went fast and helped cool us off in the 104 degree weather”
California Adventure: “ Grizzly mountain because WHEREVER you sat you got drenched. We went on it multiple times a day.”
Universal Studios: Jurassic World. “It plummets 85’ and everyone gets soaked “
What rides did you just hate and why?
Disneyland: “Space mountain because it was really jarring and due to the fact it was in the dark it made me really dizzy”
California Adventure: “California Soarin’ has too many jarring sharp turns and went to fast for me”
Was there a ride you wanted to go on but couldn’t due to repairs or you chickening out?
“Yes the Guardians Of the Galaxy ride, or what it used to be called “The Tower of Terror”. The reviews that people gave us were just terrible, saying how it bounced more than it did and it makes you ten times more nauseous than it used to.”
Did you have a favorite place to eat?
“Surprisingly the Cheesecake Factory we always found ourselves going there “
What was your favorite thing about this trip?
“ just watching my family have a amazing time and having quality hang out time”
Lastly do you have any tips for anyone planning on going?
“whenever you go to disneyland it’s always going to be packed. There is no ‘off season ‘“
