Hey friends, been logged out of Tiger Times since December for some reason, I wrote this article during this time, So here's a long lost article, and new content will be appearing next.....
Hey Friends, for the past two weeks I had a nasty flu and all I did was lay in bed. However towards the beginning of my plague, three new video games I ordered came in the mail. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, A Plague Tale: Innocence, and Skyrim (which I regret buying). Got them all on sale. Three for the price of one and a half.
I religiously played A Plague Tale the first week when I wasn’t sleeping. It’s around seven and a half hours long, and as I’m writing this I am at around five and a half hours through the game. Been playing it for WAY longer, but a few areas are a little glitchy or a little tedious, or both to be honest.
For instance the area I’m at right now. You have to watch a cutscene (won’t let you skip it, even after watching it 10 times) then traverse through a sewer maze. But you can’t be in darkness or you die from the plague rats. So you have to burn a torch and bring it to the next bonfire before the light snuffs out. The time from the first fire to the second fire is EXACTLY the amount of time that the torch lasts. So any miss movement or miss click ends up resulting in a game over.
Besides the few iffy areas in the game, it is an extremely interesting game. The main character’s brother, Hugo, has had this ailment his entire life, so about 7 years, getting sicker each day. Due to this him and their mom haven’t been a huge part of Amicia’s (you) life. Having to stay in Hugo’s room/ mother’s lab so the mom can fight against the ailment. However one day, the militia come to their estate looking to capture Hugo for his special sickness he has. Making the two distant siblings flee the estate to keep Hugo safe and work on a cure. If that wasn’t enough, the game is set in the Dark Ages, the time of the Plague. However instead of the plague story we know of, this plague, while spread by rats is way more intense. Becoming mutant mountains and eating you, leaving nothing left. The only thing that can stop them from attacking is light, or being distracted by something else to eat. Three forces are against you, Will you be able to beat all of them and live a happy life with your baby brother, or will they engulf you?
I would highly recommend checking out this game, it deserves so much more attention then it’s receiving. So glad it popped into my recommended while searching for games on Amazon.
See you on the next page,
